AUECO HISTORY

The Association of University Export Control Officers was developed in 2007 by three export officers who saw the need to share and promote university export compliance expertise. AUECO has grown to more than 400 members across 250 institutions! The membership has submitted more than 50 comment letters to regulators and produced 7 university-hosted annual conferences.

  • 2008:  The 17 founders created the Charter and Bylaws.

  • 2013:  AUECO held its first annual conference, which was open to non-members and included presentations by AUECO members and government representatives.
  • 2022:  AUECO became officially incorporated as an organization.
  • 2023:  AUECO will celebrate 15 years of association, advocacy, and collaboration.

AUECO members continue to plan the next annual conference, participate in educational webinars, prepare guidance papers, nurture relationships with government officials, and monitor key/critical issues. AUECO will continue supporting and advancing the profession of university export control officers.
