Biography

Dr. Scot Allen leads Research Integrity and Security initiatives within the Office of Research and Technology Transfer at Colorado School of Mines. He leads a staff of four and serves as export control officer, empowered official, research integrity officer, and chair of the human subjects research committee. In these roles, Scott builds relationships with faculty, staff, and students to develop a culture of research security, integrity, and safety. Current efforts include working with campus partners to upgrade secure computing environments for export-restricted research.

An Air Force veteran with deployments to the Middle East, West Africa, and within Europe for NATO operations over Bosnia, Scot has more than 20 years' experience in international relations, program development, and national security. Scot has led student-focused educational exchanges in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Europe, supports development of global partnerships, and occasionally teaches engineering design.
