Biography

Tina Bosworth has joined the University of Georgia Athens team as their Director of Research Security and Export Control. Throughout her career, she has actively pursued opportunities to increase her responsibilities and expand her knowledge of compliance, international logistics, and trade in various technological areas related to import and export activities. She has supported faculty, staff, and students with their research in areas to include strategic military technology, commercial technology, medical and pharmaceutical, and consumer products. During her career, she has supported efforts in managing hazardous materials and ITAR controlled items and technology. She has been an integral partner in obtaining strategic objectives while increasing compliance both at the university and corporate arenas. 

Assisting people in navigating the complex regulations and adhering to the ethical principles in all aspects of compliance is something she truly enjoys. Believing it will help develop their skills to be successful in their research, business endeavors, and careers. She shares valuable insights to benefit colleagues and peers within the university environment by presenting on panels and leading training sessions at national conferences. She is an active member of the Association of University Export Control Officers (AUECO).

Beyond her professional pursuits, she is passionate about her home. She lives on the family farm and operates a successful and profitable poultry business as well as achieved recognition in showing horses, dogs, and cats, attaining both regional and national wins. Even the poultry inspector suggests that she should showcase her expertise in poultry, a challenge she humorously embraces. She has a diverse interest in literature, as an active member of a writer's group, contributing fictional short stories. She as published works and continues to strive for further publications.

She is excited about her role to support UGA's faculty, staff, and students by contributing to UGA's compliance efforts and growing with the Office of Research Security and Export Controls at UGA.
